Due to extreme environmental exposure, presence of acidic impurities in air as well as water and other environmental factors, the steel in reinforcement bars constantly gets corroded with time. Such chemical and physical disorders affect the stability and strength of the TMT rebars and directly harms the structure it is the part of. In areas with high salinity in air and water, normal steel reinforcements get corroded leading to rusting and chipping of the steel.
Corrosion resistant steel stays durable and fights corrosion, its strength being unaffected. It is prepared by adding corrosion resistant elements during the preparation of steel, without affecting its ductility and other physical properties.
